Jerry Lewis Bishop was born on September 5, 1953, in Lilbourn, Missouri, to the late Eugene Bishop and Virginia Jones. He developed a spiritual foundation that remained with him throughout his life.
Jerry was a proud 1971 graduate of Elmhurst High School. He was previously employed at Lincoln Foods and the VA Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He also served four years in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge for his dedicated service.
Jerry had a deep love for sports and was a devoted Los Angeles Lakers fan, especially during the era of Magic Johnson. He had an eye for fashion and was known for always being dressed to impress. His style, confidence, and presence never went unnoticed. More than anything, Jerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was always ready for a good time, laughter, and meaningful moments with those he loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and caring son, Jerry Reese; two brothers, Michael (Debra) Bishop of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Richard Austin Jr.; two beloved grandchildren, Jerrion LeeShawn Reese and Annajah Latrice Reese; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia (Atlas) Jones; his father, Eugene Bishop; his special friend, Betty Reese; and his stepson, Marquette Reese.
